PDGF Aftercare Instructions: What to Do After Your Treatment

PDGF Aftercare Instructions: What to Do After Your Treatment

After Your PDGF Treatment

PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor) treatments stimulate collagen production and tissue regeneration. Proper aftercare is essential to protect your investment and support your skin's healing process.

Immediately After Treatment

  • Mild redness, swelling, and tenderness are normal and expected
  • Do not touch or rub the treated area
  • Avoid applying any products not recommended by your provider for the first 24 hours

First 24 Hours

  • Keep the area clean and dry
  • Apply any prescribed post-treatment serums or growth factor products as directed
  • Avoid direct sun exposure — wear a wide-brimmed hat if going outdoors
  • Do not apply makeup to the treated area
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and hot showers

Days 2–7

  • Gentle cleansing is fine with a mild, non-exfoliating cleanser
  • Continue using any prescribed post-treatment products
  • Apply SPF 30+ daily
  • Avoid retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and vitamin C serums until cleared by your provider
  • Peeling or flaking may occur — do not pick or peel skin

Long-Term Care

  • Stay consistent with SPF to protect new collagen
  • Follow up with your provider at your scheduled appointment to assess results
  • Maintain a hydrating skincare routine to support healing
